The theme for this year’s carnival is “Around the World in 80 Days”. We are hoping to have a walking group in this year so if anyone wants to join please let us know. The last time we entered we won the Best Walking Group prize. The date is 18th June so put it in your diary. Website
We are getting a good number of hits on the website some from as far away as Japan. Most hits come In the days before and after our meetings. We are thinking of having a members’ forum area on there which is in the early stages of development. When its up and running we’ll let you know. Also, don’t forget there is a classified page where you can advertise anything you want to sell. Send your ads via the “contact us” button.
50/50 Draw
Don’t forget to enter the 50/50 draw. The prize currently stands at £50 so its well worth winning.
British Horse Society
As part of the conditions of our affiliation with the BHS this year they have asked me to send them details of all our members. I didn’t just want to pass this on without you knowing so can you please let me know if you DON’T want your details forwarding to them. They are offering a 30% discount to bridleway members who want to join.
One for the Road…
A city dweller came to a farm and saw a beautiful horse. He decided he had to have the animal. He bargained with the farmer and the farmer finally sold him the horse. The city man jumped on the horse and said, "Giddyup!" The horse didn't budge. The farmer explained, "This is a special kind of horse. He'll only move if you say, 'Praise the Lord.' To stop him, you have to say, 'Amen.'" Keeping this in mind, the new owner yelled, "Praise the Lord!" whereupon the horse took off with great speed. Soon horse and rider were headed for a cliff. Just in time the rider remembered to say "Amen!" The horse came to a screeching halt right at the edge of the cliff. Relieved, the rider raised his eyes to heaven and exclaimed, "Praise the Lord!"
