We wish all our members a Happy New Year. Lets hope 2021 is kinder to us and we can all meet up soon. Please can you send renewals for 2021 to Barbara Brown enclosing a SAE or alternatively drop into Creature Comforts in Heywood where you can re-join.

We are a group of like minded individuals wishing to have fun and, on the way, preserve and extend the network of bridleways in the Rochdale & Bury Areas. We meet

Next Meeting: Due to the developments of the Corona virus in the UK the committee has decided to cancel all meetings going forward until things improve. Please keep an eye on Facebook or this webpage to check when meetings will recommence.

BHS Accidents & Near Miss Reporting System http://www.horseaccidents.org.uk/View_Incident_Locations.aspx or why not use the new BHS app enabling quick and easy reporting of incidents affecting our safety whilst out riding. The BHS are hoping it will equip and encourage man mor equestrians to report incidents to them enabling them to use the data to support their campaigns to improve equestrian safety so please try to use it.

  • Advanced Notice of Birtle Road Closure 21st Feb 2021 We have been informed by Rochdale Rights of Way Officer that on Sunday 21st February Birle Road will be closed from 9-2.30 We have been advised that it would be best if Horse Riders avoided the area.

  • Splash Lane to Nabbs Wife and Black Dad The Bridleway from Splash Lane and Black Dad to Nabbs Wife has now been reopened. The Environmental Management Department from Rochdale Council has done quite a bit of work to stop water from the brook overflowing onto the Bridleway and causing water damage to the surface of the path. They have also reinstated the surface of the bridleway and removed the Emergency Closure Notice that was placed on the path back in March.They have also taken the opportunity to place additional barriers along the route to try and stop motor bikes using the bridleway illegally to get from Birtle to Ashworth Road. Any comments regarding the new barriers should be sent directly to Environmental Management as they are monitoring ...
