Trec Date Finalised

posted 28 Apr 2013, 11:52 by Rochdale & Bury Bridleways Association   [ updated 24 Mar 2016, 06:14 ]
The date for this years Trec Competition has now been finalised. Place the 18th August in your diary and watch this space. This is a beginners Trec open to anyone who wants to have fun.

Are you interested in competing and want to know what it involves? Well you will have to follow a map on a glorious ride lasting about 2.5 hours in pairs (or individually if you want). This is the POR Phase. Then there is a COP (Contol of Paces) phase where you need to walk 150m as fast as you can without breaking your pace the faster you go the more points you get. You then turn round and canter the 150m as slow as you can again without breaking. The final phase is the PTV phase where you need to negotiate a number of obstacles getting points for how well you do. We are hoping to have a PTV practise day so watch the web site for details of this.

If you are thinking of competing it would really help if you e-mailed us at rbbaenquiries@gmail.com to let us know of your intent so we know if it is worth putting the event on. Entries will open in July watch this space.

Don't worry if this all sounds very complicated we will have plenty of helpers to help you know what you need to do.

Talking of helpers if you do not want to compete but can spare the day to help there are plenty of jobs to do. Please e-mail us via our e-mail account rbbaenquiries@gmail.com with details of how to contact you and your help will be gratefully appreciated.

The last event was a great success and with your help I am sure this one will be just as good. There will be rosettes for all entries, Individual and Pairs competitions as well as a competition for the best PTV phase.
We will be presenting the rosettes at our August Meeting the next day 8pm 19th August at the Pack Horse Birtle.
